To mark the completion of the project and to spread more widely some of the fascinating information gleaned during it, an A2-sized poster about cod biology and ecology has been produced. Fishing News readers will get a free copy in the 10 August 2007 issue, and chip shops across the UK will also be given copies. The international CODYSSEY partners are printing “own language” versions for distribution through a range of outlets in their own countries.

Cefas' Dr David Righton, who led the CODYSSEY project, said: “The poster has been designed to appeal to all ages and types of people. We really hope it will help the public appreciate what an amazing species cod is, and what a great asset it is. Above all, we wanted the poster to be visually appealing so that it would look as good in a wheelhouse as it would on a chip shop wall.”
